The construction tree was one my favorites. It's kind of funny to see how many toys disappear during the festival of the trees. All these trees filled with great little toys are just too much for the little tyles (and probably
Of course we have to have a coffee tree this being Victoria where every main street has at least 3 coffee shops sometimes more.
I didn't realize at the time that I completely sliced off the head of the gingerbread man! This was another crowd favorite and probably in some ways the most clever and artistic because everything on it was hand made. I loved the cotton candy on it. Takes me back to the fair days of my youth. I still love fairs and fair rides especially roller coasters but the cotton candy not so much.
Not all that original I suppose but still how can you not love a tree full of stuffed bears?

Oh, what fun. I love how the gingerbread man head is cut off, made me laugh!
I have lots of friends who have two trees, and one they decorate in a theme. Were all these trees in the same place?
Allison, the trees are in a swanky hotel and they are then auctioned off for charity. Two trees, now that would be fun. I've always thought a tree completely decorated with cookie decorations and trimmed with candy and popcorn garlands would be fun. Fun to look at and fun to do. One of these years!
That tree would be fun.
Is this in the Empress Hotel? At my museum job in Vancouver this year, one of the architects designed the house in which I worked, and part of my tour I'd always refer people to the Empress, but I never got a chance to go to Victoria...ferry was too expensive. Sigh.
Allison, it is the Empress. I know what you mean about the ferries. It's the one bad thing about living here. I would love to get to Vancouver more often but for the darn ferry ride. I'm going at Christmas though! Can't wait. Love downtown Vancouver and Granville Island.
I thought the Swartz Bay/Tswassen ferry was expensive ... until I moved here. The foot passenger fee to get here is MORE than a vehicle and driver on your route. A vehicle here is $100 more than it is there (that's with feul surcharge too). Ouch!
Ouch! That's terrible small town teacher. It's the same when you fly if you have to get to a smaller center. Makes leaving hard doesn't it? I know when I moved here I thought I'd get to Vancouver a lot more than I do.
The first tree looks creepy, scary. The little creatures would seem to belong more in a Hieronymus Bosch painting.
You do end well with the Teddy Bears. Ha. Cute.
Their pinched noses and craggy faces would be right at home in a Bosch painting. The tree made me wonder about the person that designed it. Definitely not your typical cheery Christmas tree!
Ooh The coffee tree is for me yum yum yum! The fair is such a neet idea. They are really cool.
Coffee, definitely a much needed daily vice for me!
