Blue Conversations
A Mixed Bag Today
Blue Conversations is the linking together of two different Joni Mitchell songs. Initially this blog was started so I could join in the conversations on the different blogs that I enjoyed. Then I realized I wanted to be part of the action so I figured out how to do the actual posting.
When I actually decided to start blogging I thought of it as a place to write little vignettes. But then I liked the blogs with pictures, so I got a camera. Over Christmas I read a line in a newspaper that said, "Now that everyone has a digital camera everyone thinks they're Annie Lebowitz." I thought that was pretty funny because here I am never having had an interest in photography and suddenly I'm taking shots of everything. The article went on pleading we stop! Well, bad news, this morning I went for a walk and here are some shots!
This first shot is of a favorite place to hang out in the summertime. It's not a spot tourists know but unfortunately Graffiti artists do.

These next three shots are taken from a lookout point from different vantage points. In the last shot you can kind of see Mount Baker. It looked very impressive from where I stood but the camera certainly makes far off things that much far off. Mount Baker is pretty much smack dab in the middle. Hopefully if you click on it and enlarge it you will be able to see it better.

On the way back I stopped off at Starbucks for coffee and a free newspaper. Here was something that caught my eye and made me smile.

Black turns film role into rock school reality
Jack Black was touring in New Zealand with his two-man band, Tenacious D, when he spotted two boys performing the night before his performance. He asked them to open for them. The boys needless to say were thrilled and said they didn't sleep the night before the concert. They were quoted as saying, "We'll be scoring heaps of chicks!"

The boys in question an 11 year old drummer, Max Tetley, and a 10 year old guitarist, Alex Philpott. 10 and 11 and already they're talking about scoring chicks! Too bloody funny.

The upside to everyone thinking their Annie Lebowitz?

We all get to share a little piece of worlds!

I beg you, don't stop.

I meant to say... OUR worlds...

Well hello Kirliz. Thanks for stopping by. Oh, I like how you put that and it's true. I have seen so many incredible places that I would not have seen otherwise.

What a great post! I howled at the Jack Black story. I would never have guessed that you had no interest in photography until recently, because you take such amazing photos. Obviously you are a natural. Or Annie Lebowitz.

What's that flat roofed building in the bottom left of those photos?

That poor little kid has a lot to learn the drummer never gets chicks.

Barbara, the flat roofed building is an industrial building under construction. It looks to be about done. I'm surprised that it was built there.

Mellowlee, thank you. I'm having too much fun with it to stop.

Junky, your comment certainly made me laugh. Poor little drummer boy. I guess he should have taken up guitar instead.

Excellent post!

I read a quote similar to that but about writing....now because of blogs everyone thinks they can write. I say pfft to that. I love your pictures, so keep on posting. As Barbara says, you're a natural.

Allison, pfft to that is right! I just think of all the things I would not know, or new interests not found if I hadn't stumbled into other peoples blogging.

Asking us to stop...pffft - whoever that was is just jealous 'cause we're all on fire here with our photo skills (well, you are - me, not so much yet).

That's awesome about JB...I think I'll set my kids up outside the Queen E when we go. I knew those guitars would come in handy.

You're pics are beautiful (as usual). Love them...keep them coming.

I'm just waiting for a student so if I don't to you all I will once work is over.

Busterp, aw, thanks. I've seen your pictures and return the compliment.

River, thanks for stopping by. I will hop on over to your place and read what you said about Starbucks. Jack Black always strikes me as the kind of star you would probably actually like in person.

Justacoolcat, it would be interesting to hear them. They're so young.

Gotta go, will catch the rest of you later.

An extra pfft is always welcome, I think. But yes Deb, great minds ;)

Well, I see I really should not leave comments when in a rush.

Dogga, I keep thinking 10. When I was 10 I'm pretty sure we were still at the stage of touching a guy then yelling, "Ew ick, boy germs!" Then you'd smack the nearest girl and yell, "Pass it on."

Deb, your posts made me laugh. Anytime you want to be a comment whore go ahead. Yesterday I was on someone's site and everytime word verification came up it made me redo it. I was getting so darn frustrated so I left came back later and to my horror discovered a bunch of identical messages from me! Word verification was having some deranged laugh at my expense.

Allison, an extra pfft is definitely always welcome.
