A Knitted Bike Cosy!
There is absolutely no reason for this post other than I thought the bike cosy absolutely hilarious. I saw the bike in one of the shops along the avenue where I do my banking and free reading of newspapers at one of the many local Starbucks.
The first two shots I took from the sidewalk but then I just had to go in and ask if I could take a picture from inside. The entire bike, kick stand and pedals included are wrapped in a knitted cosy.

For a mere $275 you too can own your very own bike wrapped in a cosy.

I figure a bike cosy is just the project for Kees and her knitting club once she's done her current project of a Phd thesis.

I have been rather negligent of late but this here is this week's Random Shuffle.

1. Hobo Train: Bruce Guthro

2. Deja Vu: Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young

3. Mood to Burn Bridges: Neko Case

4. Night Like a River: Hem

5. I Can't Sleep: Sloan

6. Outro With Bees: Neko Case

7. A Rainy Night in Soho: The Pogues

8. Basement Apartment: Sarah Harmer

9. Boo Hoo: Serena Ryder

10. When the Day is Short: Martha Wainwright

Now, as a mountain biker, I can't imagine that!! After 5 minutes of riding that thing would look like a shop rag!!

Some people obviously have WWWAY too much time on their hands, don't they?

The seat and the handles actually make sense to me. I'd have them do those parts only. They look warm and comfy.

Nice list this week! Love both Basement Apartment and When the Day is Short, and you simply cannot go wrong with the Pogues or Neko Case.

My bike happily volunteers for cozy dimensions. Really it's quite sleek and cuddly.

Nice random ten list Neko and Martha are all the rage and shall forever be so.. . and I thought you said your list wasn't Ah-rockin'?

Mellowlee, when I was looking at it in the store I was trying to figure out how on earth they put it on.

Kelly, odd it is. I have certainly never seen anything like it before.

Deb, can you imagine the looks on your fellow mountain biking friends if you hauled that out! Way to much time on their hands was definitely my first thought. When I saw it I was kind of like should I be impressed or appalled!

Barbara when I was coming up to the bike I initially saw the seat and the handle bars and thought hey that's kind of interesting. Then when I got close and saw the entire bike wrapped up I thought what on earth? You are the one who turned me onto the Pogues. It was on Remembrance Day when you posted their Waltzing Matilda song and then when I heard Fairytale of New York I knew I had to get some of their music for my collection.

Justacoolcat a bike cosy would be just the thing for a cold Minnesota winter! Martha is all the rage. Wow, I'm part of an in thing. Who knew? I certainly didn't.

That is really weird. It took me too times looking at it to realize that it really was covered in knitting.

Great list!

Even the pedals are covered in cosy.. LOL
Oh not the spokes though...
Thanks for posted those pics.. who'da thunk it.

LMAO! Only in Victoria would you find such a thing! Victoria is a bizarre city! Another "Only in Victoria" – you can live on the corner of the same street.

Slaygirl. Are you enjoying your celebratory weekend? The bike definitely is a little weird. It's kind of hard to know what to think. I thought it kind of cool in its weirdness but my sister thinks it is just plain dumb and ugly.

Barbara, I think the only thing not covered in knitting are the spokes.

Small town teacher, only in Victoria is right. I keep wondering what the next knitted project will be! When I told my sister I took and posted pictures of it was horrified. Her response was, "Great another reason people are going to think we're a bunch of wackos out here!"

Can I steal those pictures?
I have a friend in Van that would die!! Thanks for the smiles!

That's crazy, please tell me no one is actually going to buy that haha.

Allison, you can totally steal those pictures! Thank you for send me some Great Aunt Ida. How did this group slip under my radar? I'm thoroughly enjoying what you sent.

River, I just cannot imagine anyone buying it. I just think of all the things I would do with $275 and buying a bike cosy is definitely not one of them!

your comment about being part of an in thing and not knowing made me laugh.

668 when I read your posts you come across as the epitomy of cool to me whereas I always feel as though I am a good 10 paces off track!
