Ontario, Give Us Back Our Winter!
What is going on? We are supposed to be the ones with green grass and flowers, not you. You are supposed to have the white stuff, not us.
The local radio station is calling this flurries. Flurries? Have they looked outside the window? Well, of course when I discovered the white stuff this morning I just had to get outside in it. So here are a few pictures of today's light flurries!

This is the rose garden in Government Gardens.

Why I don't know but that man up there is taking down the Christmas lights this morning. I thought that was pretty funny because it was snowing pretty hard and it just seemed like maybe they should have waited a day.

This was taken from one of my favorite places to read. You can see the ocean and the Olympic Mountains from here. This is also in the Government Gardens.

This has to be one of the smallest totem poles around. It's really nice though. I must remember sometime to go around and take some snaps of the different totem poles around town. If you like totem poles we have some gorgeous ones in this town.

Well, they're now saying we might get down to -20 tonight. Are they kidding?

I hope all my friends up island and on the mainland are doing ok. I know some areas are getting hit harder than we are.

Regardless (or perhaps because) of the weather, those are some of the most stunning photos I have seen in a long time. You live in such a beautiful place, and you have documented it so well. Thanks for sharing your space.

We are having those cold winds as well. It has been dry and quite mild here for the last month and, while we only got a skiff of snow, it is sooo cold and the wind so strong.

Stay warm!

I was just listening to the news and I heard Edmonton is in the midst of a blizzard and Calgary's temperatures are dropping. Stay warm. Hope you can hunker down this evening in front of a nice fire with a glass of sherry even if the Christmas season is over.

I start teaching in 20 minutes. Should be interesting to see how many actually make it!

Those pictures are awesome! I'm missing winter, in Montreal it was colder today, but no snow... winter is all about the snow!

2 years ago, I remember that right before Christmas, we had a huge snow storm and your pictures reminded me of that snow storm, thanks for posting them.

Evelyne, if I could I would send the snow your way! There's no point in having cold if without the snow. Hopefully it will arrive your way soon.

Beautiful pics tho! Man, I am NOT looking forward to the commute tomorrow morning!!! BRRRRR

Kelly, we're supposed to be getting cold here but then again we weren't supposed to get snow so who knows.

Jean, thanks for stopping by. It is nice here. I came for a year, 16 years ago!

Mellowlee, I hope the morning commute isn't as bad as they're predicting. That's one thing about working in one's home the commute is rather easy!

That's Beautiful...
What are you doing with our winter?
Be nice to it because or your not going to get it again next year...

Can i laugh at you a little? I thought moving up north would be a bit snowy for me. We had the lightest dusting of snow up here! The moutains all around are covered though. It's absolutly gorgeaous ... with none of the pain.
It is fricken cold though :)

I can't spell ... and I don't proof read everything. Please forgive me.

Sorry to repeat an adjective that has been used more than once in these posts, but "stunning" is the only one that works for me.

We've had a very tame winter here in Chicago.

Of course, now that I said that, we'll have a snowstorm in the next week.

Barbara, you can have your winter back! I hope you are enjoying walking without treacherous ice patches to contend with.

Smalltown teacher you are forgiven. lol I sometimes find I hit the publish button too fast and out spits my illiterate comment! Take some pictures of those mountains!

Johnny Yen, I've noticed the weather in the States is a bit flipped around too this year. I hope you haven't jinxed yourself. The last thing you want is what Denver had!

I always wondered what it would look like withh snow in Van. Wonder no more, I say.

Alberta isn't that warm either. We get your sloppy seconds, i.e. dry cold winds.

Toccata said...

Leazwell, hopefully the white stuff will arrive soon. No point in having the cold without the snow.

Guggs, I heard Alberta has finally hit the deep freeze. We're hovering around -3 today but believe me we are complaining as if it was -20! We're a little wimpy on the west coast.

My boss leaves for Mexico this week. I'm dreaming of rolling up into a tight little ball and hiding in her luggage. I'm not impressed with the snow because when I drove home from the hospital the other night I was sliding sideways for most of the journey (honestly - I was so scared). The worst part was the idiots flashing their lights and honking behind me...and there were two lanes!!!! Geesh!

I agree that those are some of the most gorgeous snow pics I've seen in awhile...you and "busterp" have a knack for capturing the beauty of the snow.

(*I'M an idiot...sorry, tried to correct my poor grammar - "was" the idiots should've read "were" the idiots. One idiot quickly turned into several. Sorry!)

I knew I'd jinx Chicago-- we're due for a snowstorm this weekend.

668, the first day of the snow was great. Now, I just want it gone. At the very least I want to be able to cross the roads without worrying about a car sliding into me. Can't wait to run to your place to see what you are all riled up about! You can rant with the best of them.

Deb, what does the idiot think he's going to accomplish? An accident? If he's trying to he's certainly going about it the right way! That would so scary. Not only are you having to try and drive straight and not sideways then you have to worry about the idiot behind you. Hopefully by today all the roads will have been sanded, salted and worn down to asphalt. p.s. I liked how your one idiot turned into several! lol

Johnny Yen, you should have known better than to mock the god of snowstorms. You're in for it now! Hopefully if you get hit it's small and quick.

I want snow. Sniff.
Hope you're well Toccata :)

Allison, it's so good to hear from you. Glad you were able to burrow out from under your stacks of school assignments for a bit of a break. Take care.
