Uggs
Here's an image of uggs. Around here they weren't actually worn in the winter. They were worn in the spring with short skirts and shorts. I have no idea how this fad started but hopefully it will be left behind in 2006. Uggs are probably perfect for certain regions of the country in the winter. Here, you probably can't even wear them in the winter because of all the rain. Suede + rain = dead uggs

When I was a kid I wasn't allowed to wear my slippers outside!

Happy 2007 Barbara. They certainly do like slippers.

They DO look like slippers don't they?! One winter, my sister Michelle and I put on our slippers (they looked like UGS, except they had slippery bottoms), and we grabbed our ski poles, and slippered our way down our very steep and snowy drive way. It was a BLAST! We did it over and over again til our faces were pink! Happy New Year xoxoxo

Mel, I posted the picture for Kelly because he didn't know what they looked like and couldn't explain them.

Sliding down the drive sounds like so much fun. I used to love to toboggan and slide on the icy streets and bumper ride. An illegal activity that we always got in so much trouble for when caught doing it but it was fun!

I'm off to a movie with my sister but I'll catch up on all your posts later. I noticed you were having a lot of fun with your computer yesterday! You'd make a good pirate. If they film a fourth Pirates of the Carribean you'll have to get yourself down to the casting call!!

Uggs.. I think they should be worn a ruined in the winter so we don't have to see them in the spring...

Kelly, they certainly do have the ug in ugly!

Barbara, Happy New Year! How was your comedy fest last night?

Sadly, these have been around for years now. They come from Australia right, where they are inexpensive and then people pay upwards of 300$ for them here!!

Queen's is littered with Uggs wearers. I typically dislike most people who own them, and in all sense, they have NO ANKLE support, why do so many people love the, still??

As someone who wears toetectors a lot for work, I have a tolerance for virtually any footwear, although those are for Grannies.

"Ug"...the name is fitting, isn't it? And "ugly" applies - Kelly is right. Maybe curlers could find some value in them?

Allison, around here it seems to be the university students that are into them. They are terribly ugly but I must admit when I was little I really wanted a pair of go-go boots! Sadly, my mother did not agree so it was no go-go boots for me.

Ben, footwear for grannies! My university students would not be impressed. That kind of description would probably work at getting them out of them!

Daughter Amy has about 50 pairs of shoes. Uggs are one of them. The weather is so warm yet that she is still wearing boots / shoes. (I know because I have to pick between two pairs for her everytime she goes out).

Uggs come when it's colder. I think they would be warm.

Busterp, Amy would not be impressed by all the negative comments her precious uggs have been receiving. Oh well, I'm sure she would look at my footwear and think, "I would not be caught dead in those things!"
