Crap!!
I just wrote a big entry and part of it I wanted to cut and paste for my parents but clearly codage does not mean copy in French! All my writing is lost! Hey, it was the only word that started with a c. It made sense to me.
I wrote a big long thing about the Canada Day Parade and meeting a very nice elderly couple that invited me to dinner and now it`s gone and sorry, but rewriting is not something I enjoy! So sorry but this post is now short and scruffy and my good mood has disintegrated!
Well, the good news is I arrived in Montreal safe and sound and so far I am fascinated by this what this city has to offer.
I can`t believe it my time is almost up. I can only have so much time on the computer and then it shuts you down. Mind you, it does give you a seven second warning. However, I have discovered that 7 seconds is not long enough to finish a sentence, say goodbye and hit the send button.
The time limit poses a bit of difficulty in my being able to visit your blogs. So I`m going to apologize in advance but my parents get first crack at me. I figure that`s only fair!
Take care everyone.

that sucks.
but i am happy you are safe and in montreal.
It sounds like you are fitting right into Montreal, well aside from the odd language and traffic issue. I'm glad you have made friends, but it's scary to notice how much time has actually passed on the computer once you start measuring. Damn the library and their portion control!
i hope that you'll get used to French codages and keyboards!
Copier - Copy : ctrl c
Coller - Paste : ctrl v
Couper - Cut : ctrl x
They all start by C so I guess that it can be very confusing to use a French "speaking" computer.
Barbara, odd language? I guess that French is sort of odd sometimes ;)
Oh sorry, Evelyne, I didn't mean that French was an odd language! I meant odd as in "occasional". See, English is the odd language!
Barb, I was just kidding, French is odd (in all senses of the word!) lol
I think that it can be very confusing for an English speaking person to be in Montreal; the transit system is unilingual (french) and signs in the city are sometimes (often) only in French
Oh maaaan, that does suck! Thanks for letting us know you made it safe and sound though. I hope you have a fabulous time!
you sure that "lost" big long blog wasn't just in your imagination?
668, Evelyne sent me a list of important computer words so I should be fine now!
Barbara and Evelyne, I had a good laugh over your little back and forth about the French language being odd or not odd as the case may be. It sure is confusing at times though!
Mellowlee, hi there. I hope your summer is a good one as well. I hear the weather in Vancouver has been gorgeous. Enjoy.
Kelly, it was not!
