The awesome Evelyne, copied my pictures all 300 and some onto a disc for me tonight. She then told me I should post some right now. I was scanning through the pictures probably a little too quick and you know me and computers so trying not to impose on her goodwill too much I think I was trying to hurry and decide and I don`t think I did a very grand job of it.
Afterwards she showed me different pictures she has on her computer and let me tell you she has some amazing pictures. I came away rather depressed. She has a picture of a goat sticking his tongue out that I think she absolutely must post for everyone to see. Her pictures of Montreal are also so good. She has a picture of the dome that I posted below and well, let`s just say I wish I had snapped it!
I only have ten minutes left so my pictures are in a ridiculous order with no rhyme or reason. But, I think they will just have to stay that way. So, a little fuzzy and a little blurry in places here finally are some pictures.
This guy here was one of the audience members that had his hair done by the crazed Mozart Barber Shop. I don`t know the actual name of the troupe but they were wearing clothes from that time period and playing a lot of Mozart music on with modern day instruments.
Here is the Mozart Barbershop in action.
The next two are for Allison. I know I have others of the gargoyles on stilts and I try and find them sometime later.
This is the St. Denis Hotel and it`s directly across from where I am living. Actually, it looks a lot more classy in the photo than in real life. It is actually pretty run down. But, I do love those coloured rooftops.
This is the street I live on. St. Denis is a really cool street with lots of action at all times of the night. Early mornings is when this street sleeps. Sadly, last night we lost part of St. Denis to a fire. I have not seen the damage yet but the news is saying it was bad but luckily everyone got out ok and so that in the end is the most important thing even though it might be small comfort for those that lost their businesses and their homes.
This dome is in Old Montreal. Oddly enough it now houses one of the tackiest tourist traps in town. The tour guide calls them boutiques. I think of boutiques as high end but Evelyne tells me it just means small shops. So, I guess the tourist guide did not lie exactly but if you go there thinking you are going to find some cool shops, think again.
Here is a picture of St. Denis during the comedy fest. These kiosks dotted the street.
This is a picture of my firetruck. Every night it would roll in just before the barricades were erected blocking off the street to cars. That apartment building you see behind it is where I am staying.
I don`t know how I did it but I started with ten and now there`s eight!
Take care everyone.

pics at last :o)
those gargoyles on stilts look like giant cockroaches.
For some reason, The little strip of St. Dennis Street reminds of a clean (very clean, comparatively) St, Marks Place in New York.
The gargoyles look like Star Wars characters and the Mozart barber shop reminds me of The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence but, you know, more baroque. (I know Mozart was from the classical period—I looked it up on Wikapedia) What a fun street to be living on!
Yay, pictures!!!
Your street looks great :]
Great pictures. Mozart group looks like something I'd enjoy. (Ren faire coming up for me).
Also liked street shots. Keep them coming.
Boo, giant cockroaches. Ew! They liked to run around and chase people on their stilts!
Wayward Son, St. Denis definitely has its two sides to it. I will have to take some shot of the the part that will really remind you of St. Marks Place!
Dogga, St. Denis has definitely been a fun street to live on while on while away from home.
Busterp, don`t think you`re off the hook yet. I am about to try and post some more pictures without the help of Evelyne and her laptop!
wow...gargoyles do exist ;)
great photos!
I think you photos are pretty great! You may not be happy with the quality, but they sure do show the flavour of the area. Well done. And big thanks to Evelyne as well.
Oh joy! I have so missed your lovely pictures!
I've had several people tell me Montreal is a great place for a vacation. Your pictures give evidence to that.
Allison, well of course they exist!
Barbara, bit thanks to Evelyne for sure.
Johnny Yen, you will defintiely have to try and get here with your family at some point when they are a bit older. You would love it with all the free musical events that take place during the summer.
I love the shots tc. As someone who never gets to travel, I feel I get to experience some of the country through pictures like these.
Hope all is well.
