Yet Another Bad Habit
When I returned home it was to find Sammy Jo has picked up a new bad habit to add to his already lengthy list. The first couple of times I thought it was because he had missed me and did not want to leave my side. Laugh if you want but he spent the first couple of weeks just following me around from room to room. What is this new bad habit? He seems to think he can eat off of my plate while I am eating. I realize this is a cat that has not had many rules but believe me not eating on the table is one of them. Except for fish and chicken and the occasional Werther's candy he is not allowed human food. Now suddenly he has a hankering for all things not cat food. I'm more than a little suspicious that his house and cat sitters not only allowed this flagrant disregard of the rules but encouraged it! Ok, they're saying, "It's so cute the way he would eat right with us!" was maybe a bit of a clue. Yea, cute, try telling that to my mom when she comes next month.

Now I am left to having to break him of it! So far it's a draw as to who is winning. I think he's longing for a return of the no rules summer.

He is so sick of me stalking him with the camera that he refuses to do anything but scowl, turn away or just turn to me with an, "I am so bored of you right now," look.

I will leave you with a couple of pictures of "graffiti" that I took in Montreal.

Hope everyone is having a good week out there.

Thanks johnny yen. Reading your blog reminded me of why I enjoy doing this. Hope you manage to find that much wanted time with your family soon. Don't work too hard.

Good luck re-training the cat! ;-)

(Been there. Done that.)

Whitenoise, well if you've been there and done that give me some hints!

Oh Sammy Jo, you ballsy cat! That is a seriously funny story, Toccata. It must be frustrating, but it is also tres cute. What a guy!

And I love those photos - the colour and the imagination that must have gone into those is fantastic.

Barbara, some of the graffiti there was incredible. Of course they had their fare share of people thinking they had to write their stupid initials all over everything but a lot was absolutely beautiful.

You're back, woot!

I like that last picture the best. Very nice! I'm trying to imagine a cat eating a werther's candy...interesting. Our dog, Sam follows you everywhere, all the time. However she always knows when we are leaving and refused to "give kisses" when I left home. Animals are just like humans, so stubborn when they want to be.

eating off the same plate is icky. i wouldn't let my cat do it. and you know how moms get. so happy to see a pic of SJ though :)

I tell you, not only do our cats look alike, but they must be related. Eve would eat off our plates if allowed.

Allison, aw, no good-bye kisses. With the Werther's he simply licks them. It's weird. His love of the candy came about one year when I had one in my mouth and he kept coming around trying to sniff my mouth so out of complete exasperation I pulled it out to show him it was nothing he wanted. I could not have been more wrong.

Boo, I do know moms and that is why in two week this cat had better have better table manners because there is no way my mom is going to want to share thanksgiving dinner with the cat on the table!

Justacoolcat, it's always comforting to know I do not own the only brat of a cat!

Hi Mel. I'm kind of in the process of changing my look. I just got so bored of what I had. I need a cool header though like you.
