Yikes!
Yikes! I have been gone so long that I had to try my stupid sign in name three times before I remembered the right one!
As some of you know I have been dealing with family issues. My mother has been unwell and my aunt, my mother's sister is very ill. Had my suitcase packed and ready to head out to Saskatchewan at a moment's notice but it looks as though I will not have to make that trip. The doctors are feeling hopeful and so I too am feeling a lot more hopeful and it's amazing what a little good news can do to alleviate one's stress level.
University exams are in full swing which means math 24/7 around here. Math and copious amounts of coffee. Just finished teaching my last calculus student of the term just before 11:00 tonight and I am feeling wired, which is why this entry sounds as though Alvin the Chipmunk is writing it!
In my absence I see I have been tagged not once but twice! A certain zombie wants me to state seven things that nobody knows about me. 7?! Really? I might have to make something up. Hmm...
1. I love all things math. Ok you're thinking you knew that already. But, what you might not know is I got a 54% in grade twelve math and I didn't get into math until I was almost 30 and that was not by choice. No one is more surprised than me when I suddenly found myself wanting to learn more and more about the subject.
2. I once took a job as one of those annoying telephone solicitors. I lasted exactly 3 hours before I quit. "Hello, I'm calling on behalf of the Canadian Diabetic Association, would you like to..."
3. Love music, love movies hate, HATE music videos. HATE music videos.
4. Love to explore new places but hate to fly, ride the ferry or take the train. Luckily my love of exploring new places overrides my hatred of any transportation that I am not piloting.
5. I am a complete closet and cupboard neat freak. The rest of my apartment can be going to hell in a hand basket but I cannot sleep if my closets and cupboards are not just so. In the days before 9/11,when they actually let you take your art supplies on the plane, the airport security guard was scanning my art box when he motioned for another security worker on over. Next thing I know I had five security guards looking at the x-ray image of my art box. When I asked what was wrong the one guard laughed and said, "We have never seen anything so neat."
6. I am very particular about my books. I do not understand why someone cannot read a book without leaving it in pristine condition. What's with bending the corners? My sister is no longer allowed to borrow my books. She knows why!!!
7. I'm having trouble coming up with a seventh thing. My middle name is Beth. Wow, that's exciting. Ok, I biked the Rockie Mounties from Banff to Lake Louise. It was great except for the section by the Columbian Ice Fields. That was one ugly mountain to climb and whenever a truck passed me I felt like I was going to be blown clear off the mountain top never to be seen again.
Well, I have to run on over to Dogga's place to find out what he has tagged me with. Tomorrow's blog!

Hahaha! I loved the cupboard and art supply box story. I am the exact opposite. In order to make my room clean, the cupboard becomes an explosion. I like to think of it as an explosion of colours ;)
Allison, I wish my explosion of colour was kept to my closets but no it's my actual living space that looks like a mini bomb has gone off and nobody has bothered to clean up the mess!
So glad to have you back in the blogosphere! And thanks for doing the meme, you are a good sport.
I am happier than I should be to find out I got a better mark in grade 12 math than you did! And yet, I am abysmal at it.
I am more like Allison on the closet thing. It's where stuff goes to hide in shame.
Hehehe, I tagged you the same, but mine only required 5 things :0]
Great list!!!
Maths does my head right in :[
I loved the security guys and the art box; superb!
I'm a stickler for tidyness too - I have to force myslef to leave some things alone though or it would drive me insane LOL.
Beth is a cute name ;]
Aw, I was in a music video once, please don't hate me *snigger*
I know what you mean though, as mostly they are a dissapointment or you can't relate the song to video. Rarely to they get it right.
Barbara, so you whipped my butt in math did you? Even when I was little I would make my dresser drawers all nice and tidy. Why can I not have the same neatness skills to my apartment at large?
Dogga, I remember that. You were in it with Kees. You're forgiven. Also it helps that you were in a video with a respected artist!!
I'm a prisinte book type too. Book abuse cannot be tolerated.
Justacoolcat we need to start a pristine book club.
i am glad things are looking up.
missed ya.
You too huh?...I worked for the Development Disabilities. I actually lasted a couple of years because I broke the rules. I did not call before 11 or past 7. And I NEVER called on weekend mornings/evenings...especially Sunday. So I did awful and made little money at it.
I loved the art supply story too...I can just picture it.
And the biking part - that's pretty darn exciting. Very cool.
668, nice to see you again as well.
Deb, you would have loved the biking. It was so beautiful.
i would love to come down, sneak stealthily into your place and alter a few things in all your cupboards
Kelly, you are such a little devil. That would make me crazy!
