I Didn't Have Time
When I got Tiger I always thought I would probably rename her. I always kind of think animals name themselves. One day a name comes and it just kind of sticks. I started calling her Butterscotch. This name has been greeted by groans and no don't from my students. Last night one of my students that comes twice a week came with a note about a missed assignment that he simply did not have time to do. He did however manage to find time to make a colour coded chart for the renaming of Tiger. One must have their priorities straight after all! The chart came with a list of "do not dos". Apparently one should never name an animal after a colour, a food, anything with the word butter or anything dumb. Obviously, in his view I managed to break all the rules.
Oh, and this line I cut and pasted from an email from my mother. My mother that is turning 80 this summer! "In the first paragraph of your e-mail you referred to Tiger as "her", then later on you referred to Tiger as "him". Do you have a bisexual cat?"
Everyday I am constantly amazed at how much better life is with a cat in the house!
Have a good weekend everyone. Oh and I promise the next post will be about something other than the cat. Well, maybe. Cheers!

Just be careful what you end up renaming your apparently transgendered cat.
I always appreciated students who were productive even if it wasn't always in the direction I thought they should be working.
