My Mom Turned 80!
For five days last week the entire family showed up in Victoria to celebrate my mother's birthday. It was just a really nice weekend. I am one of the lucky ones that belongs to a family that likes to spend time together. That's not to say we don't nearly come to fisticuffs over a game of cards or when word got out that my turncoat of a brother voted Conservative. Conservative? How could he Oh man my mother might be 80 but she had a right fit over that one. My father just kept saying, "How could you?"
After everyone left I scrambled through the week and finally today I had some time to sit back and relax. Finally downloaded my pictures of the once in a lifetime event only to find I have 79 fuzzy, blured pictures. I kept scanning through them as if they would magically come into focus. They did not.
I was very pleased with Butterscotch during the weekend because she is not a social cat. She hates her space being invaded and was none too pleased to be booted out of the bedroom and forced to share the pull out bed in the livingroom with me. I was pretty worried she would have a little poop fest in protest. This is a cat with definite kitty litter issues. The last of the company left on Monday and after the hugs and the goodbyes I climbed the stairs to find her standing looking snotty as hell chatting up a storm in her best whiny meow beside a little gift on the living room floor. She gave me one last deadly glare and then decided maybe she had better run and hide out for awhile.

I wasn't aware that any cats were in fact, social. ;)

Sounds like a lovely week, and happy belated birthday to your Mom!

Allison, you dog person you. Yes, I guess cats are known for being anti-social but this one takes it to a whole new level.

Ack! I hope that one little present was all she felt she needed to leave to remind you of her feelings on the subject.

By the way, your parents are the coolest people ever!
