I have been having difficulty getting on a computer because they did not like my BC government issued ID. Have no idea why. So I came in one day with my birth certificate and the genius behind the desk said you have to be a Canadian to get a computer. What? Just where the heck do you think Saskatchewan is? Oh and just so you know the genius behind the desk clearly did not grow up in Quebec. I just want to make that clear in case anyone started thinking it was a Quebec thing not to know Saskatchewan is in fact in Canada and not say Azkaban. Anyhow, my new updated ID finally came in the mail after I had already left and my house and cat sitters xpressmailed it to me. So take that Mr. Computer man. It`s pretty funny because my picture is really blurry. Really blurry. But oh well as long as it gets me past the front desk.
Wayward Son sent me directions on what might work for the posting of pictures so I`m going to give it a try.
Right now The Comedy Fest is on and it is centered on St. Denis. Every night they block the road to vehicular traffic and a firetruck parks itself right in front of my apartment.
The weekends are the best although because I live right on the street I see that it is so far very repetitive. I`m kind of hoping next weekend will be different. What was fun and exciting the first night had really started to lose its appeal by the third night in a row especially the five song loop that blare from the loud speakers all along the street. It`s not so much that they have music blaring but do they really need to play the theme song for the comedy fest, which sounds suspiciously like the bunny hop song, four times every hour?
My favorite thing so far has been the stilt walkers. Allison, I wish you were here because they had gargoyles on stilts! They were pretty cool and their costumes were something else and they were the only stilt walkers that completely incorporated their stilts into the costume design as well. The crazed Mozart Barbershop is quite fun too but that was certainly something that I thought brilliant on the Friday night, pretty cool on the Saturday night and ok, I`ve had enough of this by the Sunday night.
There has just been so much going on that I don`t know where to start or stop so I think I will say good-bye for now. Now that my acceptable ID is here I should be able to hang around here a lot more. Wayward Son sent me directions on a possible solution to being able to download my pictures and I`m going to try it later. Hopefully that will work otherwise this is going to be one visually boring blog this summer.
Take care all and I hope to be stopping by your place soon. But for now I absolutely must write my parents. Cheers!

Welcome back! You were missed.
I don't understand-- you have to prove citizenship to purchase a computer there?
I hope you can upload pics soon-- you've always got the most amazing photographs on your blog-- very beautiful.
Nice to see you back too. If you still have picture problems let me know. Looking forward to new ones.
Hey!!!!! Was so excited to see you're here...you are greatly missed around these parts.
And hopefully the picture thing works...I'd love to see what you're experiencing there.
Is this the comedy fest that they play on TV (for 8 years on rerun?). I always enjoy it.
Johnny, no I`m spending the summer in Montreal and the main library lets you on a computer for a limited time but you have to proven citizenship in order to do so.
Busterp, I just may get back to you on that. I am so hoping to get it up and going before the weekend. Hope you`re having a good summer.
Deb, that`s the one! Of course most of what you see on television are the pay for events but where I`m living in the street where all the freebies occur. Tonight as I walked here they were just setting up for tonight and it looks as though there might be some different performers. By the way I David Usher gave a free concert in front of the HMV store here on Saturday. It made me think of you.
Hullo, friend! Glad to hear you're enjoying yourself.
Gargoyles on stilts??? Oh, you must try and take a picture of this if they return. I idea of that just made my day :)
How long does that comedy fest last anyway? Please tell me there are no clowns or mimes or I might need to come rescue you.
Stupid computer Nazis. They can be all pushy once they figure out Canadian geography.
where IS saskatchewan. can you spot sasquatch there? heh. put some pics up soon eh? i miss looking at sammy jo :)
Good to see you posting again...
:-)
What a bunch of retards! Hope everything else is going well.
Performing arts freak me out!!! :[]
Ever since I upgraded to the new blogginf system, posting photos has been perfect unlike the nightmare is used to be previously.
I got around the problem by using Mozilla Firefox to get the photos into my blog post - saved the post and then carried on using IE7 for edting as normal, that was my fix!
Maybe try using the Opera browser?
i'm with barbara - clowns and mimes always bad.
glad you are back online but don't spend too much time on a computer!
i'll try and drop you a line this weekend.
Allison, oh I pictures now if I could just download them!
Barbara, looks like the street festival ends this weekend. No clowns thank goodness but there are mimes a plenty!
Boo, Saskatchewan is smack dab in the middle of Canada and think flat! I will send you pictures but I may have to wait until I get home.
Whitenoise, hi there. Hope you`re having a good summer and the skies are nice for flying.
Danny tagalog, everything else is great. I`m having a great time in a lively city. It`s been kind of nice to have a change. Not as big a change as you made but a change nonetheless.
Dogga, I`m blaming the library computer. That`s probably wrong of me but I can`t even download the stupid things onto a disc.
668, don`t worry not much computer time here. Also, I have no television or other time wasters so I spend most of my time taking in the city. I fear if you came to Montreal we would forever lose you in the maze of the gazillion shoe stores!
no no, apparently toronto is the city to buy shoes in! even montrealers say so.
i have not bought a pair of shoes since my high heels! i'm a good girl. however, the tattoo festival is coming up.....
Toronto has more shoe stores than Montreal? My mind just boggles at the suggestion. Well, since you have been good and it is the tatoo festival than a new pair of shoes definitely sound in order.
i don't know if they have more, but i've been told that it is the place to buy shoes in canada. although i have never bought any shoes there except for runners. they were lovely runners tho!
well, i'll look.. :)
