Exams are Looming

University exams start in less than two weeks so this post will be a little hit and miss until they are over and done with. So good luck to anyone out there having to go through the dreaded finals. I hope you find them ok.

In the meantime here are a couple of pictures I took with the new toy. My ocean pictures didn't turn out so good but hopefully next time they will.

I

I loved the plastic wreath someone had made for this tombstone.

l

I do not know why my spacing sometimes gets so weird. I'm also having trouble placing the pictures where I want them. Any suggestions?

Luckily, I only have one exam (on Monday), then one paper and the rest of my thesis. I'm locking myself away for the next little bit (starts this wkend).

Beautiful pics, I love graveyards. Are you hitting the align buttons when you upload the pictures? Typically you can chose from left, right or centre and then the size. Your other ones seemed fine. I enjoy wrapping the pictures with text, but mine typically aren't 'for display purposes.' :)

Those are lovely photos. I love graveyards too.

I can never get my photos exactly where I want them. Sometimes I have to add spacers just to align them better.

Allison if we don't hear anything from you in the next little bit we'll know where you are. Hope it all goes well.

Graveyards are beautiful. When I travel I love to see the different ways in which different cultures demonstrate care and respect for the dead.

Thanks for the tips you two. I'll try them out next time. I'm a bit of a neat freak and it drives me crazy when things don't look how I want them to!

i, too, love graveyards..

That's the one! It's called the Ross Bay Cemetery. It's right on the ocean and about a 15 minute walk from where I live. Next time I'll make sure and take a picture Emily's gravestone. When you see the pic you'll know I did it for you 668 aka neighbour of the beast!

Thanks Mellowlee. Once I get my students through their exams things will lighten up a lot. I can't wait for Christmas holidays!

Great pics. Wot Allison said about aligning stuff. Also big glass of wine at the ready for when blogger is a total arse with your pics and you want to hurl the computer out the window.

Kees that is best advice so far! Your comment was the first thing I saw today and I burst out laughing. I think this is going to be a good day! Cheers!

i thought it looked familiar!

i know there are a bunch of "famous" people in there but i can't remember any right now. oh, and i think we went to a chinese cemetary in victoria that day as well..

668 there is a Chinese cemetery and it's pretty close to this one. There's also a really nice Jewish Cemetery. If the rain would stop for a bit I will try and get the Emily Carr pic and I will head down to the Chinese cemetery and take a pic there too.

i have to figure out how to get work my scanner so i can scan some of my pics in.

then i can share some of my graveyard shots.

Toccata said...

668, is it that your scanner's not working or that you don't know how to work it? That's a question, believe it or not, I might actually know. I probably scan and post in a long about touristy kind of way but I'll post what I do in a bit. (I have to scan something now in order to write directions!)

um,
a. i can't remember why, but it's not hooked up. there is a reason.
b. i haven't really used it much, so i just need to practice.

Good luck with the scanner 668. It has turned nasty cold here but I'm still hoping to get to the cemetary tomorrow to take a snap of Emily.

Hey.

Just browsing till I get in the mood to work.

I really like the cemetary pictures. Something about them makes for an interesting picture.

You seem pretty good with the camera.

As for the text; mine get goofed now and them too. And a lot of times it spaces 1 1/2 lines instead of one. I just post it that way.

Hey there Busterp. I kind of have a thing for cemetaries and this one is right on the ocean.

The spacing is weird. Part of the problem is it can look so different in the draft form and then you hit publish and it's like, "What the heck happened!"
